Our favourite trips as children were the ones to Chester. We loved spending time with Sarah, Simon and Joanne and, after all the games, we often had the chance to listen to Jim's wonderful stories. Jim could hold our attention and entertain us for hours with his booming voice and his fabulous sense of humour. He always showed so much interest in what we were doing and what we thought about things. He was one of the few adults that never treated us as children and maybe that was why we thought the world of him. Having not seen him for, oh too many years, he made an incredible effort to come to Mum's funeral. Sarah had travelled separately. That touched us deeply. And of course, there was a story to tell about the journey which made everyone laugh. He was a dear friend to both our parents and we feel very lucky to have known him.
